We are going out of business.
After three years of business, I have to make the heartbreaking announcement that Second Wind Sports Fort Collins is closing up shop. I am incredibly grateful for the time that we have had here! This store gave me a window into our community that I never expected, and it led to so many wonderful relationships and opportunities. I see someone I know almost every time I go to the grocery store, and you have been so kind to me and my family. Thank you so much for the love and support that you have shown us over these last three years! But, unfortunately, the business is a long way away from being able to support my growing family, and we are simply out of time and money, and I have filed for bankruptcy. We will not be conducting any further sales and will be open until January 31st only so consignors can pick up their inventory.
For our consignors, I am sure that this announcement brings up quite a few questions, and I will do my best to answer three big ones below, but I first just want to say that I am so sorry for the inconvenience this will cause! I feel absolutely terrible about how this has ended, and from the bottom of my heart, I offer my sincere apology.
What happens to my inventory? I will be at the store during my normal hours (Tuesday - Saturday, 10am - 6pm) until January 31st so that you can come and collect your unsold items. Again, Friday, January 31st will be the last day that you can pick up your items. You do not need to make an appointment, but if you are able to give me a heads up (via email: secondwind.foco@gmail.com) of when you plan to come by, I can try my best to gather your items beforehand. There are approximately 660 accounts with inventory in the store and only one of me, so please bear with me. If you do not want your items back, that is okay. Unclaimed items will be liquidated as part of our bankruptcy.
What happens to my account balance? Because I am filing for bankruptcy, I am not able to pay any account balances or write any checks. You will receive a letter in the mail from the court inviting you to file a claim after our case is finalized. The court will decide how much each account is paid based on the value of our liquidation. If you would like to collect what you can of your outstanding balance, please keep an eye out for that letter and file your claim. If you are not interested in filing a claim, then no future action is necessary. If we do not have your current mailing address on file, please email it to us at secondwind.foco@gmail.com.
What is my account status? If you’re not sure if you have any inventory in the store or if you had any balance on your account, please send us an email at secondwind.foco@gmail.com and I will let you know as soon as possible!
